Each Year Derwent Valley Construction likes to support a worthy cause in the local community. This year I have chosen Amber Valley Gymnastics Club to benefit.

The Club is a voluntary organisation based in Ripley and provides facilities and training for local young gymnasts of all abilities. I have come to know the club through my daughter who, early on, showed a natural ability for the sport. She has developed into a talented gymnast but she couldn't have achieved her current success without the coaching of the dedicated staff, and the use of the facilities at Amber Valley Gymnastics Club.

To help others like her, I want to raise funds for desperately needed new equipment. After discussing the best way to do this with family, friends and colleagues they all agreed that sending me off on the difficult and potentially dangerous trek to climb Kilimanjaro was the ideal challenge! At over 19,000 feet Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and I shall be battling extremes of temperatures, high winds and almost certainly, fairly severe altitude sickness.

The trek will be an extreme challenge on my part so if you would like to consider sponsoring me so I can raise enough money to make a worthwhile contribution to Amber Valley Gymnastics please email enquiries@dvcltd.co.uk

Thank you

Andy
